MEMEBER CARE

The Member Care Ministry at Santa Fe Christian Church is concerned with meeting the needs faced by most people at some point in their lives. From pastoral counseling, to weddings, baptisms and funerals, joys and sorrows are shared with people who seek to be God's hand extended at significant milestones in life.

The Member Care Ministry also oversees membership classes and assists church members in recognizing their spiritual gifts and finding their places of service within their areas of giftedness.

Hospital Care and Emergencies

Through active staff and volunteer ministry, Santa Fe Christian Church Pastoral Care carries out the admonition of Jesus to visit and pray for the sick.

Our Ministry team is happy to pray with you in times of illness and will visit you if you are hospitalized. Because of the size of the Houston, traffic conditions we cannot always predict the time a minister will arrive, but we will try to do our best to coordinate our visit time with your stay.

If you have an upcoming hospital stay, please let us know so that we may visit you and pray for you. Since hospital stays are much shorter than in past years, please let us know as early in the day as possible.

If you need to contact a minister after hours, please call 409.370.7017.  A pastor will then be alerted to your need.

Funerals

The loss of a loved one is the most difficult time we face in this life. Jesus said to "Comfort those that mourn" and that He would give us His joy in times of sorrow.

At Santa Fe Christian Church, we are prepared to be with you through those difficult times to help you make the arrangements that must be made during the loss of someone you love. Funerals provide us with a time to remember and affirm the life of one who loved and better understand life and death within a Christian context.

Planning a funeral is not an easy task for someone who is grieving. We must allow others to help us in these times so that the services we plan will say the things we want said about the deceased and will give glory to our Lord Jesus Christ.

Our Member Care team will help you in preparing the funeral service, and will lead the service so that the pressure is taken off the family during this time.

Weddings

The Christian wedding is a sacrament, a sacred and beautiful worship experience of the Church. It is a religious service in which a man and woman, already in communion with the Lord, now invoke His blessing upon their marriage. As they pledge themselves to each other and are united by God in Holy Matrimony, they dedicate and commit themselves to establish their home in Jesus Christ. We urge you to make careful preparation for both your wedding and your future life together. Santa Fe Christian Church wants your wedding ceremony and marriage to reflect the love of God.

If you are a SFCC member or regular attender and would like to have your wedding at Santa Fe Christian Church, we would love to assist you with the wedding preparation and ceremony. We want to help you make this a wonderful time of joy and anticipation. We can help you avoid problems and make your wedding the beautiful event you envision.

The pastors of Santa Fe Christian Church are all available to do your ceremony. But we encourage you to utilize a pastor with whom you have a personal relationship, as this will make your ceremony more meaningful.

Pastoral Counseling is required before the wedding so that you may have every opportunity to better prepare for the decision you are making in marriage.

Assimilation

At Santa Fe Christian Church we encourage all members to be involved in a ministry that they are passionate about or called to. Unlike most churches we do not rely solely on a person’s occupational abilities to involve them in ministry. At SFCC we ask each member to complete a Spiritual Gifts Assessment for Team Building. This tool allows the Member Care Team to perfectly match a person’s gifting with the ministry needs of the church.
