DB-Cruise-webThe Pastor's Pen

Twenty months ago my wife Carol and I made the move from the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex to the rural town of Santa Fe, TX.  I don’t know that we have fully recovered from the culture shock but I know we are where God has called us to be.

Soon after arriving in this area we began to make acquaintances and found some of the most giving, honest, hard working people we have ever met.  Just six weeks into our residency here on the Texas Gulf Coast we went through Hurricane Ike.

I was amazed at the people and how they jumped in helping one another in their time of need. We were blessed to have people from all over this great country come and help in the cleanup and rebuilding process after the storm.

My ministry, my message, is one of healing. In order to see healing in one’s life you must go through a process. Recently, I have made a Clarion call for Santa Fe Christian Church to embrace the mission of CaringSharingRepairing. Our goal is to care for the lost and those in need. To share the good news of Jesus Christ and share our resources with the less fortunate. We are called to be a place of repair; repairing severed spiritual relations and those with our fellow man.

Caring-Sharing-Repairing is more than just three buzz words; it is what this church is called to do. We are a church that really does care and we act on it.

Out of our mission, we minister to dozens of families in our area by offering the Angel Food Ministry.  Angel Food provides families with quality groceries at tremendous savings each month. We are also partnering locally with HIS Ministries a food bank, thrift shop that offers help to many of the less fortunate in Galveston County.

The Sharing part of the mission is accomplished by and active discipleship program designed to help Christians in their spiritual journey. Santa Fe Christian Church is dedicated to following the Great Commission found in Matthew 28:16-20. We are also quick to share finances and resources with other ministries around the globe.

Repairing is accomplished with messages of salvation, hope and encouragement. We are committed to walk through the healing process with those individuals God sends to be a part of our church family. Every Friday night we host Celebrate Recovery, a Christian 12-Step program that focuses on Jesus Christ, The Higher Power. At Celebrate Recovery people find healing from their hurts, hang-ups and habits. They also find friendships and build relationships that keep them accountable.

I hope if you live in the Santa Fe, TX area or are visiting at anytime you will come and worship with us. Santa Fe Christian Church is a non-denominational church consisting of people from all walks of life and varying denominational backgrounds. I know you will sense the warmth and love of our church family. We work hard to provide ministry for all age groups. We embrace diversity be it in age, race, color or ethnicity. We are a healthy, growing church and we are honored to serve you.

In His Service,
